Background History
Since our inception in 1968, we have been dedicated to enhancing people management skills and advancing the competence of Eswatini HR professionals.
Established in 1968, the Institute has played a leading role in developing human resource professionals in Eswatini. It was initially founded as the Swaziland Association of Training Officers (SATO). In the mid-1970s, its mandate expanded to include Personnel Managers, leading to its renaming as the Swaziland Institute of Personnel and Training Managers (SIPTM). By the 1980s, the organization adopted the name Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), reflecting its growing influence in professional leadership. In 2012, the Institute adopted its current name (Institute of People Management (IPM) Eswatini) to align with emerging trends in people leadership and workplace transformation, reaffirming its commitment to delivering integrated human capital training and development solutions.
